Florida Autism Bill 

The Florida Senate will require insurance plans to provide coverage for "screening, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment" of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This bill will go into effect on January 1, 2009. This act applies to "health insurance policies or plans issued, renewed, entered into, or delivered on or after that date."

$7 Million Grant to Study Autism in Toddlers

Forida State University and the University of Michigan will share a "$7 million dollar federal grant to study the effects of early intervention in autism."

"13 Red Flag Behaviors for Autism"

Amy Wetherby of Florida State University has identified 13 "red flag" behaviors to watch for in children aged 18 to 24 months.
