My Philosophy

As the sole proprietor of ABA Services of Colorado, it is my goal to bring the scientifically proven methods of behavior analysis to bear on the challenges we each face today. 

My Qualifications:

I received my Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Florida State University in 2003.   FSU's ABA program is accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International .  As the 13th university program to be accredited by ABAI, FSU's ABA program joins an elite group.  The program is also approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.

I have worked with clients with disgnoses of ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavior Problems, Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy,  Communication Deficits, Developmental & Learning Delays, and more.

Because a behavior analyst addresses behaviors, we are called upon to intervene in a variety of situations.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst -

Qualifications:

• A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) must have at least 225 classroom hours of specific graduate-level coursework, meet specific experience requirements, and pass the Behavior Analyst Certification Examination. After passing the certification exam, a BCBA must meet continuing education requirements each year in order to retain certification. Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.

As you can see, a BCBA must meet rigorous standards.  The training and experience of the behavior analyst are important factors contributing to the expertise of the behavior analyst.  Perspective is also an important factor.

• As a mother of two, I am well acquainted with the concerns every parent has for the well-being of his/her child.  
  
  
• Having worked with children in a classroom setting, I understand the challenges of helping children of many differing abilities and needs achieve their full potential.  I also understand parental concerns surrounding their child's ability to adjust to unfamiliar situations and surroundings. 
  
  
• As a daughter of elderly parents, meeting the needs of the elderly is very close to my heart.  
  
  
• Having been an employee and a supervisor, I understand the needs of the business owner/manager and the needs of the employee. 

I believe these life experiences, coupled with my training and experience, have equipped me to connect with my clients on a deeper level - and with more compassion and understanding.
